This is the Debian GNU/Linux prepackaged version of gzip, the GNU
compression utility. gzip was written by Jean-loup Gailly, with
portions written by Mark Adler (inflate.c), Peter Jannesen (unlzw.c)
and Haruhiko Okumura (unlzh.c). The zip deflate format was defined
by Phil Katz.

This package was put together by Ian Murdock <imurdock@debian.org>,
from sources obtained from:
