What Does This Do?
The CLI�� Migration Tool is a utility that provides an easy way to transfer the old PIM (Personal Information Manager) data to the new Palm Desktop for CLI�� software when you purchase a new CLI��? handheld. This utility helps you search for the old PIM data and migrate an old user with associated PIM data to the new CLI�� handheld.

Important Notes
This update application has the following requirements:

Windows? Millennium Edition (ME)
Windows? 2000 Professional
Windows? XP
Palm Desktop for CLI�� software (version 4.1 preferred) installed.
10 MB free disk space (also depends on how much data is to be transferred)
Before running this program, install the latest version of the Palm Desktop for CLI�� software for your model from the CLI�� handheld support web site.
For Windows XP and Windows 2000 operating systems only: Before starting the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or with administrative rights.
To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions
Download the CLIEMIGRATION102.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
Check the CLI�� Handheld Support web site and confirm that the latest version of the Palm Desktop for CLI�� software for your model is installed.
BEFORE installing the CLI�� Migration Tool, please perform a HotSync? operation.
Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the CLIEMIGRATION102.EXE file to begin the installation.
On the "Search User Data" window, specify how the CLI�� Migration Tool can find the PIM data. Three searching methods are provided to search the old PIM data:
Quick Search : Searches the locations if Palm Desktop was previously installed in Typical (default) mode. [C:\Palm, C:\Program Files Sony Handheld, and C:\Program Files\Palm]
Search my computer : Searches all hard drives and partitions. This search process may take ten minutes or longer.
Manual search : Searches a specific location.
Click the Next button.
The "Select User" window displays a list of the users that the CLI�� Migration Tool has found. Select the appropriate user name from the user list and click Next.
On the "Migration Preferences" window, you can specify the desired user name to be used in the new Palm Desktop for CLI�� software. You can choose to use the same name or enter a new user name. Select your preferred option and click Next.
NOTE: If more than one user's data should be transferred, select "Migrate another user" and then click Finish to start the process again.
When you are finished transferring users, verify that the "Migrate another user" checkbox is not selected and click Finish to complete the migration process.
NOTE: Only PIM data will be transferred to the new location. Applications will not be copied over by the CLI�� Migration Tool.
