What Does This Do?
This utility installs the CLI�� Handheld System Patch to provide the following functionality improvements:
Compatibility with external Memory Stick? Adapters for Memory Stick? media that was formatted with an PEG-NXxx device
Improves low battery issues with the Communications Card
Improves Communications Card recognition
Improves ATRAC3? Audio sound quality
Improves power-up issues involving Memory Stick? media and the Communications Card.
Improves MP3 playback for 96kbps encoded MP3 files

IMPORTANT: This file is only for use with the models identified. Not all models are sold in all countries.
Important Notes
This update application requires that 606KB of memory be available in your CLI�� handheld. Before installing this application, follow these steps to confirm that there is enough memory available.
Tap the "Home" icon.
Tap the "Menu" icon and select "App".
Tap "Info" from the App drop-down list.
Tap "Size" icon at the bottom of the screen.
Check the "Freespace:.." listed
Tap the "Done" button to exit.
During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
Make sure that Palm? Desktop for CLI�� software is installed on your computer from the installation CD-ROM supplied with your CLI�� handheld.
Confirm that the computer is configured to be able to perform a HotSync? operation. (For the detailed information about HotSync, refer to the CLI��? handheld's Read This First manual.)
To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions
Download the SYSUPDATEPACKNX_US.PRC file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
WARNING!!: Please perform a soft reset on your CLI�� ? handheld BEFORE performing the update installation by pressing the small reset button on the back of your CLI��? handheld. For more detailed information, refer to the CLI�� ? Read This First manual.
On your PC, start the Palm? Desktop for CLI��? software.
Click the "Install" icon.
At the "Install Tool" window, select the appropriate user name from the user list.
Click the Add... button.
Navigate to the location to which you saved the update file.
Select the application file "SYSUPDATEPACKNX_US.PRC" and click "Open."
Click "Done."
Place your CLI��? handheld on the cradle, and perform a HotSync? operation.
After the HotSync operation finishes, you are prompted to reset your CLI�� ? handheld. Tap "Reset."
NOTE: When installing the SYSUPDATEPACKNX_US.PRC update file from a Memory Stick? media, it is necessary to perform a soft reset of the CLI��? handheld after the installation.

Confirm a Successful Installation
Tap the "Home" icon on the CLI��? handheld.
Tap the "Menu" icon, and select "App".
Tap "Info" from the App drop-down list. All internal data information is displayed.
Tap "Version" at the bottom of the screen. The software version for each item is displayed.
Scroll down the list and confirm that the following filenames and versions are displayed:
3452MSLib v2.00 & v1.00
Avx AT3Decoder v1.00 & v1.01
AvxMP3Decoder v1.0 & v1.01
CFLib v1.01
PenPatchNX70 v1.00
Tap the "Done" button to exit.
NOTE: If the files and versions above are not listed, please download and install the update again.
